The Evolution of SQL

0

SQL stands for Structured Query Language, which is a programming language used to manage and manipulate data in a relational database. It is widely used in various software applications for retrieving, and managing large volumes of data efficiently.

It was first developed by researchers at IBM in the 1970s a language called System R, which was the first prototype of a relational database management system. Later in the 1980s, SQL was developed by Donald Chamberlin and Raymond Boyce at IBM and it quickly became the standard language for relational databases.

Today SQL is essential for retrieving, analysing, and managing data. We can become skilled data analysts and handle complex data tasks with ease by adding SQL to our skills.
